Integration into the european research area: young scientists launch their path within the JEAN MONNET project
March 18, 2026. Student involvement in the educational and scientific components of the EU_NITRA_UKR project is implemented through various formats, including the presentation of research results at scientific conferences.
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, Associate Professor Nadiia PROKOPCHUK, first-year students majoring in Biotechnology and Bioengineering Iryna POLOVYNKA, Nataliia BOIARSKA, Andrii BYSHEVYI, and Pavlo SHULHA presented their research findings on water quality assessment of various water sources, including nitrate pollution levels. Their work was presented at the XVI All-Ukrainian Conference of Young Scientists "YOUNG SCIENTISTS 2026 – FROM THEORY TO PRACTICE," held online on March 18, 2026, in Dnipro, Ukraine. The conference is included in the List of international and all-Ukrainian scientific and practical conferences of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for 2026 (http://www.uintei.kiev.ua/page/plan-provedennya-naukovyh-naukovo-tehnichnyh-zahodiv-v-ukrayini-0).
The participants express their gratitude for the support of the European Union through a grant under the project ERASMUS-JMO_2025_MODULE, 101238988-EU_NITRA_UKR "Nitrate pollution prevention for health environment: European experience of the Nitrates Directive implementation for a Ukrainian circular economy." Thanks to this project, they gained their first hands-on experience in experimental work and initiated their list of publications, marking the beginning of their integration into the European Research Area and providing an incentive for further study of EU standards.
